DJ DOCTOR CHRIS:
Started DJing in 1988 for several groups and crews around the way. After rockin parties and jams solo and with the groups, he teamed up with FUTURE ROCK on the boards and PROFESSOR TE on the mic and founded the group CREME DE LA CREME in 1996. After layin the cutz and spittin some vocals on a few tracks, the first EP called "MOSES, BITTE HAU MICH NICHT" hit the streets and Chris decided to change the decks with the mic and went to the front row kickin.. vocals wih PROFESSOR TE at the groups..live shows. As the fame grew, the follow up single "DIE LETZTE NACHT" went to the pop-charts Top 100 on 72. The group went to the lab to complete the album "PORNO FUNK", which was released in 1998. After Tons of shows all over, chris decided to put down the mic an going back to his essence, producing & DJing. Chris left the group at the peak of the buzz in ..98 to team up with the breaker/rapper/singer/producer AKANNI from NYC, who came to Germany a few months ago, and they founded the group "STAR-EYE" in 1999. After Shows, shows and more shows the live-band-based album "SOULMELODICS" was finished and came along in 2001. After some heavy touring and gettin..it going on AKANNI & DJ DOCTOR CHRIS went back to basics and rocked the stages with 2 Turntables & a Mic like they started back in 1998. After 2 more singles, the 2 work in the lab on their 2nd album right now, so keep ya eyes & ears open for these tracks keepin..the spirit of ..88 alive, coming along with that rugged, raw, dusty s**t................... MC AKANNI:
Akanni Humphrey ist ein vielseitig talentierter Rapper, Sänger, Musiker, Produzent, Tänzer, Choreograph, DJ und Tanzlehrer. Kommend von einer großen Künstlerfamilie voll von Musikern und Tänzern, hat Akanni seine Wurzeln im Oldschool-HipHop als Rapper und B-Boy der ersten Stunde aus der Bronx. Zu den Tanzgruppen mit denen er auf internationalen Tourneen war, gehören unter anderem: M&M (1976), RPT Crew(1980), 3D-Crew (1983-84), Tron Brothers, L Brothers
Crew(1984), The Floor Lords (1984-1986), Live Action Squad (1986-90), Full Circle (1995-96), und das HipHop Musical Jam on the Groove mit GhettOriginal (1996). JAM ON THE GROOVE, das erste große HipHop Musical, war weltweit ein Erfolg und wurde in Israel,
Brasilien, Japan und auf einer Tournee durch die USA aufgeführt. Mit Live Action Squad ging er auf eine dreijährige, internationale Tournee mit dem Ringling Brothers Circus. Sie waren damit die erste Breakin Gruppe, die zu einem festen Bestandteil einer Circustruppe wurde
und sie brachten damit den Trend ins Rollen, mehr moderne Elemente in den Zirkus einzubauen. In seiner Zeit beim Zirkus wurde Akanni dank seiner Gesangs- und Moderationsqualitäten zum ersten schwarzen Assistant/Ringmaster. Seine ersten Erfahrungen als Rapper
sammelte Akanni mit D-Street (1978-74), Dynamite 2 (1983-86), Almighty Force (1983-86), The New Black Tarzzanz (1992-95) und CTBS (1996) und als Backgroundsänger für die Funkgruppe Slave im Tramps Nightclub. In Europa organisierte Akanni zu Beginn der 1990er ein HipHop-Festivalwochenende in Norwegen, bei dem er auch selbst auftrat. Im Anschluss daran kam er nach Deutschland, wo er aufverschiedenen Jams mit Cora E. und den Stieber Twins auftrat. Er ging auf Tourneen mit Gruppen wie Creme de la Creme, Fresh Family, Blumentopf, SensUnique und Cora E, den European Gladiators, MellowBag, Walkin ́ Large und Aphrodelics,Freundeskreis auf der Esperanto Tour mit Afrob, Deborah, Brook Russel, Mr. Gentleman,
Joy, Walkin ́ Large undMellowBag auf der Bipolar OppositesTour mit Deichkind.1997 gründete Akanni die Band Star Eye
zusammen mit DJ Dr.Chris. Star Eye veröffentlichte das Album Soulmelodics, die zwei Maxis „Produce My Track“ und „Weight of
the World“ und Videos zu den Songs „Weight of the World“ und „Spiritual Ride“. Sie tourten mehrmals durch den deutschsprachigen Raum. Teilweise kollaborierten sie dabei mit anderen Acts wie Sekou the Ambassador, den Afrodelics, Looptroop, oder Seeed. Zu dieser
Zeit standen sie auch mit Künstlern wie LL Cool J oder Xibit, Estelle, Black Eyed Peas, Bahamadia oder C.L. Smooth auf der Bühne. Als
Produzent und Komponist hat Akanni neben seiner eigenen Musik unter anderem mit VenusMalone und Brothers Keepers zusammen gearbeitet. Für die liveDemo Serie moderierte er die Veranstaltung und den Event-Soundtrack. Seit 2003 hat Akanni die der Musicals
Funkalicious Multiarts, ClapYa Hands und Soul City Magic komponiert, produziert und aufgeführt. Unter anderem liefen die Musicals in Berlin in der Ufa-Fabrik, im BKA Luftschloss und im Theaterdock. Zuletzt spielte Soul City Magic in der eigenen Location SONIX in Berlin Kreuzberg. Seit 2010 wieder zurück in Köln, residiert seine eigene Livemusic-Event-Serie einmal in der Woche im Cafe Hallmackenreuter, im Studio 672 und bis Heute im Club Reinecke Fuchs.
